How to Backup Thunderbird in Ubuntu?

How can I back up Thuderbird emails to an external hard drive or device using Ubuntu?

Your mail and settings are located in your home folder under “.thunderbird” hidden folder. Just copy that folder to your backup device.

sudo cp ~/.thunderbird <backup device>/thunderbird
